Rosas is the first major seaside resort after the Franco-Spanish border. From the south of France, it is a much more accessible destination than most other Spanish resorts.

It's the most popular choice for French holidaymakers, and the most comfortable.
Perpignan: Take the A9 motorway towards Spain, cross the border at Perthus, then take the N-II and finally the C-260 towards Roses. Allow approximately 1h30 for 90 km.
Montpellier: Environment 3 hours via the A9.
Toulouse: Environment 3:30 via the A61 then the A9.
Lyon: Forecast 6 hours the route with a possible break.
Paris Count 9am – a stopover in Perpignan or Narbonne is recommended.
⚠️ Peak season advice: On Saturdays between mid-July and mid-August, traffic jams at the Perthus border can be very significant in both directions. It is advisable to travel during the week or very early in the morning (before 8 am).
💡 Diversion suggestion: To avoid traffic jams at the entrance to Figueres, take the road from Roses to Pau-Saverdera, Palau, Vilajuïga – it’s much less busy during peak season.

From Barcelona - By Car
It's the most comfortable way to come to Roses from Barcelona, especially with family or luggage.
Take the motorway AP-7 towards Girona then Figueres, then the road C-260 Roses. The journey is about 160 km 1 hour 40 minutes with no traffic.

✈️ From Girona Airport - The best option from Europe
Girona-Costa Brava Airport is served by many European low-cost airlines (Ryanair, Transavia, Jet2…). A bus route directly connects Girona Airport to Roses, making it the simplest option if you are coming from anywhere in Europe.

There is no train station in Roses. The closest town served by train is Figueres, 22 km away.
